CBD is short for Cannabidiol, pronounced Kah-NAB-ah-dial. It is one of the main compounds found in hemp. CBD can relieve stress and anxiety, combat pain and inflammation, and enhance feelings of well-being and overall balance. Extensive clinical studies so far have shown that CBD has strong anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-depressant, and neuroprotective qualities. It is non-psychocative and non-intoxicating and has no adverse side effects.
We each have an Endocannabinoid system (ECS for short) which is a network of receptors spread throughout our entire body that regulates everything from our immune system, nervous system, memory, mood, appetite, sleep pattern and pain sensation - basically most of our functions.
Scientists and researchers first began studying the ECS about 20 years ago and are still in the early days of understanding its full capacity. We do know that all mammals have an ECS and that we have naturally occurring cannabinoids already in our bodies.
When you take CBD, it is awakening these cannabinoids already in our body to function and be used more effectively by the ECS. That's why many people report the relieving properties and health benefits they feel when supplementing with CBD. CBD can also increase the amount of anandamide in the body. Known as the “bliss molecule,” anandamide plays a role in the creation of pleasure and motivation.
No. CBD is non-psychoactive and non-intoxicating. It does not produce a high.
THC is the other main element found in cannabis and it IS psychoactive, meaning it produces a high.
Full spectrum CBD contains trace amounts of THC that are naturally occurring in the hemp plant, however, these levels are so low (0.3% or under) that it's not anywhere strong enough to produce a high. In fact, the small amount of THC present is relevant because it acts as an important element in the Entourage Effect.
Aurelian CBD users report feeling a sense of calm, ease, and relaxed focus, without the high.
CBD Isolate is where the CBD is isolated and all the other elements from the hemp plant are removed.
Full Spectrum is where the CBD and the other compounds from the plant are preserved. This includes terpenes like limonene, pinene, myrcene, and humulene as well as other cannabinoids such as CBN, CBG, and CBC. Terpenes are plant compounds that give the cannabis plants their unique scent and taste. Terpenes work extremely well with cannabinoids to add medicinal benefit.
Think of it like getting your vitamin C from a tablet vs. getting your vitamin C from freshly squeezed orange juice. The tablet just contains the vitamin C and the fresh squeezed orange juice contains the vitamin C as well as the fiber and all the other vitamins and minerals naturally found in the orange.
One of the most conclusive studies relating to full spectrum CBD oil took place at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Hadassah School in 2015. It compared the efficacy of a full spectrum CBD oil with a CBD isolate.
The study concluded that full spectrum was more effective for relief of pain and inflammation. The study also demonstrated that full spectrum CBD continued to provide relief as the dose increased, while CBD Isolate did not provide the same effect when there was an increase in dosage.
The full spectrum benefit is often referred to as the "Entourage Effect." All the compounds of the hemp plant work together to deliver a more medicinal result, just the way nature intended. Aurelian only offers full spectrum CBD products.
Both Hemp and Marijuana fall under the Cannabis family, they are both Cannabis. They are different, however, in numerous ways including how they look, the purposes they are used for, and their compound make up. The main difference as it relates to CBD, is that Hemp is naturally high in CBD and low in THC, and Marijuana is high in THC and low in CBD. Hemp has many uses aside from just CBD: clothes, food, building materials, jewelry etc. Marijuana is used medicinally or recreationally.
All hemp derived products can contain trace amounts of THC. While it is unlikely that one would fail a traditional drug test from using Aurelian CBD, the possibility cannot be entirely ruled out. Even formulas containing zero THC can result in positive drug tests because of the ways in which cannabinoids are metabolized and converted in your bloodstream.
If you’re subject to a zero-tolerance drug policy at work or elsewhere, please know that some of the more sensitive drug tests can come back positive for THC. If you’re unsure about where your company stands, better to check before moving forward.
Aurelian CBD #powerup
We source all our CBD from our amazing partner farm in Upstate New York, about two hours outside of New York City. A USDA certified organic farm, they grow CBD-rich hemp and are also doing industry leading research on carbon storage, soil health, and regenerative agriculture. We're proud to source our organic hemp from them and also to be associated with a team actively working to restore and preserve our environment.
Aurelian CBD is made of organically grown hemp extract mixed with organic MCT, which is fractionated coconut oil. These medium-chain triglycerides allow for fast absorption of cannabinoids compared to other oils because cannabinoids are fat soluble and are most effective when consumed with healthy fats.
When you take a tincture sublingually (under the tongue) or buccal (between the gums and cheeks) ideally you want most of it to be absorbed after 30-45 seconds when you swallow. That’s why we combine our hemp extract with a particular kind of organic MCT oil that is highly absorbent, so you get the most CBD delivered in the most effective way.
We're not in the business of throwing other companies under the bus or comparing what other brands are doing. But we are very proud to offer CBD that uses only the cleanest, purist ingredients, is organically sourced in the USA, third party lab tests everything, and that is fairly priced. We are 100% confident that you can't find a better, more effective CBD product anywhere else. Learn more about the Aurelian advantage here.
Yes, Aurelian is legal because it is sourced from industrial hemp containing less than 0.3% THC, grown in compliance with Section 7606 of the US Farm Bill.
On December 20th, 2018 the 2018 Farm Bill was signed into law, which officially takes hemp off the controlled substances list and allows the farming of hemp across all 50 states without a permit. So CBD and hemp is now officially legal, across all states, with no legal gray areas.
Aurelian CBD is sourced from organically grown hemp flower from a USDA certified organic farm and is mixed with organic MCT oil, so technically, yes. We are not "certified organic" because CBD does not fall under the jurisdiction of the FDA. Since CBD products are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration, they cannot be certified as organic. Any company that claims their CBD oil is certified organic is misrepresenting the facts.
Our hemp is thoroughly extracted using human grade ethanol. The ethanol is gently removed by boiling under vacuum, leaving behind only CBD, terpenes and other extracted plant compounds. Our final product is refined using state of the art molecular distillation technology, to create the most potent CBD oil, containing on average 85% CBD while retaining terpenes and other beneficial compounds, without the chlorophyll and other heavier components that affect color and flavor. That's why our full spectrum oil is some of the clearest in color you will find compared to other full spectrum oils on the market.
Hemp has many uses, among them is that it naturally pulls out toxins and impurities from the soil. While that's great for soil regeneration, you have to be mindful when creating CBD oil that the good parts of the plant remain and the bad parts are discarded. Our extraction process is a reliable and safe way of achieving exactly that consistently. What's left is one of the cleanest full spectrum formulations on the market.
Always. All our products are third party lab tested. What that means is an independent lab not affiliated with our company or our partner farm tests every drop of our product. This is to ensure that the actual amount of CBD we state to be in the bottle is the actual amount you are getting and it’s also to confirm that our CBD is free of any solvents, pesticides, herbicides, preservatives or additives.
You don’t just have to take our word for it though, see our third party lab test results here.
If you purchased our Aurelian 1 or Aurelian 2 tinctures you can take those orally as well as use them topically. Be sure to shake the bottle just before as this distributes the CBD evenly throughout the oil.
The main method is to hold under the tongue or between the cheeks and gums for 30 seconds, then swallow. We like to include the option of between the cheeks and gums, otherwise known as "buccal," because that area is more absorbent for many people and an even more effective way for the CBD to enter your bloodstream than under the tongue. 30 seconds is a good amount of time, but you're welcome to experiment with more or less if that works better for you.
You can also place a serving in drinks and foods. A dose works well in coffee, smoothies, sauces, and cocktails. This method can take longer to absorb as it is going through your digestive track, and it may not be as effective for some people, but many users report great results.
Finally, you can use topically on your skin or mix with your favorite lotion. This works well on areas that are experiencing pain, soreness, or stiffness. It's also amazing for moisturizing the skin, reducing redness + inflammation and many customers have used our tinctures to completely wipe out their eczema!
The Aurelian Palo Santo Calming Scented Oil is strictly for topical application. It's perfect for areas experiencing pain/inflammation, but it can also be used as a calming and elegant unisex fragrance.
There is no standard dose when it comes to CBD, everyone needs a different amount depending on their unique Endocannabinoid System, severity of symptoms, and also what they are looking to relieve, whether it's some mild anxiety or severe chronic pain. The best way is start slow and work your way up, experimenting to find the ideal dose for you.
We recommend starting with a 1/2 dropper, twice a day, for a week, and adjusting from there until you find your optimal dose. Tinctures and topicals can take 20-40 minutes to take effect and can offer relief for up to 4-6 hours.
Higher dosages are generally better for pain relief and tend to have a more calming effect, while lower doses can be more reviving and are great for general wellness and restoring your body’s balance.
The Palo Santo topical can be applied as needed.
Once you find the dose that works for you, stick with it. Studies have shown that increasing your dose does not produce more relief. Effects for both the tincture and the topical are cumulative, so you will experience greater, longer lasting relief as you continue use.
We do, we're all about precise dosing!
Our oil is nearly flavorless with a light herbal profile and a smooth finish.
Aurelian CBD is good for two years from time of delivery. Store at room temperature and away from direct sunlight to keep fresh.
Within the USA, yes. We would not recommend traveling internationally with CBD yet, as there are still gray areas concerning CBD and international laws.
Aurelian was a Roman Emperor who is lesser known in history. He came from humble beginnings and rose to eventually become Emperor of Rome. He was nicknamed "Restorer of the World" and the "Golden One" and his ancestors were the sun gods. He became Rome's leader during an extremely vulnerable time in its history, and many people believe Aurelian was crucial in saving the Empire from disappearing all together. We associate the name with strength and timelessness. Here's his golden bust.
Aurelian was created by our founder Nick Hoge. Read more about him and our mission here.
